Sweetwater Campground
Canton, Georgia

Sweetwater Campground is an Army Corp campground. That means that if you have a Golden Age Passport card or America the Beautiful Passport card, the camping fee is 50% off.
Make your reservations early as this is a popular park for boaters and campers during the summer months. Contact the Corps reservation line at 877-444-6777. Try to book a site within numbers 106 to 117. There is a map on their website, www.recreation.gov.
The campground is located 7 miles southwest of Canton, Georgia on GA 20. Travel south or west from Canton on GA 20, past mile marker 6, (about 2 ½ miles) turn left onto Fields Chapel Rd. Proceed 1.3 miles to the campground. Follow the signs to Sweet Water Campground. GA 20 can also be accessed from I-75. Right turn onto Fields Chapel Rd.
Friday night will be a free night to grill whatever you like.
Saturday breakfast on your own. At 10:00 we will leave for the Canton, St. Paul & Pacific Railway located just east of downtown Canton. Drive East on GA 20 to Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street, pass through downtown Canton. Turn left onto N. Cristler Street. The road will turn to gravel. Go past the grave yard and turn left down the steep driveway and park. Lunch will be served at the railroad dining area. Trains will run before and after lunch. We will return to Sweet Water around 3:30 or 4 o’clock.
Saturday night dinner will be at Provino’s Italian Restaurant, 1365 Riverstone Parkway, Canton, GA, 770-720-9672. Depart Sweet Water Campground at 4:45 PM.
